District Activities:The District Convention in Auburn was a GREAT success. The Auburn Club did an outstanding job of hosting the event with assistance from Greater Auburn in manning the Kiwanis Store. Those of you that missed the event missed out on a good time and great fellowship with fellow Alabama Kiwanians. We entered the 06-07 year on Oct 1, 2006. I wish everyone the best for 2006-7. Several things that I want you to keep in mind. Annual Club Giving. Any gift given prior to October 1, 2006 will be credited to the 2005-6 administrative year. We need to plan our budgets so that we can make our contributions as early as possible. Division 10 was at 91% last year. We need to allocate at least $5 per member to both the KI Foundation and to the Alabama District Foundation for a total of $10 per member. Governor's Official Visit to Division 10 Governor Gerald WALDROP and 1si Lady Callie visited with Divison 10 on Thursday, November 30th at Dadeville. We had attendance from all but 2 clubs within the Division. International President's Visit to the Alabama District Nelson TUCKER, International President visited with the Alabama District on Tuesday November 14th at the Birmingham Club. As you know Nelson Tucker is a Native Alabaman, born in Fayette and moved to Decatur,AL where he spent his youth. Current Visits I have started another rounds of Club visits since the first of the year (2007). I have visited with Auburn, Valley and Macon County (Tuskegee). I will visit with as many more as possible before Mid-Winter..See U in Montgomery! |
